The Senior Logistics Manager provides leadership for the Distribution Center and supervisors, who are directly responsible for turn key warehousing and transportation solutions. The incumbent will have and maintain hig- level interface directly with the customer on a regular basis

Requirements / Exigences

- Diploma/degree in business, logistics, transportation or equivalent education/experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of transportation/DCC operations experience
- Strong leadership with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
- Knowledge of safety regulations e.g., DOT regulations; US and Canadian transportation regulations
- Proficiency in computer software applications

Responsibilities / Responsabilités

  • Manage the performance of Logistics Managers and Supervisors, resolve performance issues, ensure compliance with all policies, processes, laws and safety regulations
  • Set goals and objectives and follow up on them
  • Provide resources, customer and corporate support towards achieving operational and account goals
  • Provide coaching and training opportunities to develop top talent for purpose of Succession Planning
  • Work with customer to determine their needs and expectations and operate account to meet those demands
  • Provide regular timely customer reports on services and standards; Manage the statistical input from Supervisors and operations
  • Evaluate continuous improvement methods using clear measurements; Require that all Supervisors do the same; Work collaboratively to achieve these goals
  • Manage locations, through Logistics Managers, to improve KPIs and financial results
  • Plan and review safety audits, meetings and training programs
  • Manage safety incentive and monitoring programs
  • Oversee the success of the employee recognition through the Logistics Managers
  • Provide resources for employee job satisfaction
  • Use strong interpersonal skills to manage geographical area of responsibility
  • Demonstrate effective people management skills
