The HR Specialist provides HR Support to multiple locations.
 
 

Requirements / Exigences

- Diploma/degree in business, arts, human resources or equivalent experience
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience in Human Resources
- Preferably working towards professional designation
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication (both written and verbal) skills
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
- Ability to work with little direction
- Experience in the transportation and warehousing industry is an asset
- Excellent computer skills (especially with Word and Excel)
- Ability to set priorities and adjust priorities to meet simultaneous needs
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment

Responsibilities / Responsabilités

  • Works with the HR team to determine advertising strategy, pre-screens resumes, conduct initial interviews, performs reference checks,  ensures references and criminal background checks are conducted
  • Ensures internal postings are done and posted
  • Makes recommendations to hiring manager on suitability of candidates and forwards candidates on for consideration
  • Assists in building bench strength by building relationships with various educational institutions, attends career fairs, etc.
  • Facilitates training sessions: Dignity & Respect, Handbook, HR updates
  • Provides support to develop, interpret and monitor HR policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Ensures that all policies, procedures and guidelines are updated, implemented and communicated
  • Ensures legislative requirements are met and understood
  • Ensures that inquiries/questions regarding the benefits programs are effectively addressed
  • Ensures that Bravo program is administered correctly and consistently
  • Conducts orientation program for new hourly and administrative employees
  • Ensures that all necessary paperwork upon hiring is completed and submitted to payroll and benefit departments
  • Develops, updates and maintains current job descriptions
  • Is responsible for managing and following up on employee relations issues for multiple locations provides assistance and guidance in disciplinary actions (letters)
  • Participates and implements different projects on an annual basis
  • Responsible for setting action plan, change management, anbe aware of all details in a project
  • Conducts investigations into workplace issues
