Position Description / Description du poste

The Supply Chain Engineer III is focused on Transportation design and optimization of a large final mile delivery network. Strategic decisions on modelling, scenario development, and street level stop optimization is critical. Allocation to both dedicated and contracted resources, including multi-mode and territory optimization for multi-layered networks is also important. Proven ability to manage large data, design optimized delivery networks and drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.

Requirements / Exigences

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or supply chain; a combination of other education and experience will be considered
- Preferred Master's degree in industrial engineering and/or MBA( but not necessary)
- Three to Five (3-5) years or more of relevant work experience
- Three to Five (3-5) years or more of experience with data profiling, data mining and statics analysis
- Three to Five (3-5) years or more of experience in the use of Paragon software or other transportation optimization tools
Ability to:
- Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
- Exercise judgment in obtaining solutions
- Operate within predictable parameters as well as defined tools and processes with guidance from management
- Must be computer literate and able to use the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) as well as MS Project, Vision, AutoCAD and Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Demonstrated customer service skills; must be customer focused and results oriented
- Demonstrates problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels within the organization
- Knowledge and understanding of supply chain operation and transportation concepts

Responsibilities / Responsabilités


  • Apply company methodologies and tools to design distribution and transportation operations including staffing, equipment, sizing and layout
  • Collect data and perform statistical analysis
  • Determine efficient utilization of resources by analyzing layouts, labor force, equipment, and equipment utilization charts
  • Map and document processes, identify process gaps, make recommendations and implement process improvement
  • Support business development and help create efficient designs and solutions processes
  • Participate in customer facing meetings for proposal discussion and business development
  • Establish and implement performance measures, KPI targets and optimization tools
  • Develop transportation network design and routing design using the appropriate software
  • Perform other duties as assigned
