    The Field Health Safety & Environment Lead coordinates all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) programs and activities throughout a complex, road transportation network servicing the oil and gas industry. This includes working with Ryder dedicated fleet resources and personnel as well as outside, third-party carriers

    Requirements / Exigences

    Requirements:
    - High school diploma or GED equivalent  in general studies and certificate or training in health and safety
    - Bachelor's degree in health and safety related studies preferred
    - Five (5) years or more of experience in HSE in the oil and gas industry with an emphasis in on-shore logistics and road transport (some off-shore experience helpful)
    - Three (3) years or more of experience relative to investigation, root cause analysis and risk rating analysis
    - Ability to:
    - Performs work independently with minimal supervision
    - Excellent working knowledge of MOT, TDG and OHSA regulations (advanced level)
    - Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (intermediate level)
    - Verified work experience with specialized vehicles, cargo securement, etc. (intermediate level)
    - Class I license preferred
    - Smith System Trainer Certification preferred
    - Industry certification such as CRSP or similar preferred
    - Safety Sensitive Position; Non-Regulated Tech

    Responsibilities / Responsabilités

    • Responsibilities:

       

      • Implement a program for carrier evaluation aimed at determining compliance with regulatory standards as well as Ryder’s HSE standards: this will include on-site review of carrier operations
      • Develop positive working relationships with customers, carriers and vendors aimed at creating effective and efficient solutions to HSE challenges, including upgrading of HSE policies and programs to gain improved alignment with Ryder goals and standards
      • Create and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that address HSE practices and results for both the network as a whole and for individual carriers
      • Prepare and deliver HSE training programs to all levels of carrier and vendor personnel, with emphasis on HSE orientation, load securement, and hazard identification
      • Conduct/coordinate incident investigations including Root Cause Analysis, and identification and implementation of effective countermeasures; serve as Lessons Learned Specialist and manage high value learning, learning alert, and communication processes
      • Compile learnings from internal/external incidents, investigation results, and good catch/near miss highlights into a monthly HSSE communication
      • Subject to callouts, emergencies and incident investigations
      • Perform other duties as may be required by programs and/or regulatory changes or as assigned
