    The Material Follow-Up Coordinator coordinates material being brought into the plants using the JIT system while ensuring carrier and supplier compliance.
    This position is an afternoon shift 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. with mandatory Saturday hours when the plant is working.  Saturday shifts are paid overtime.  Flexibility on shift is required.

    Requirements / Exigences

    - Good analytical and problem solving skills
    - Strong computer skills (MGO, Excel, and Word)
    - Good oral and written communication skills
    - Attention to detail
    - High school diploma (post secondary education in business, logistics, or transportation a definite asset)
    - Ability to take initiative and operate effectively in a fast paced environment

    Responsibilities / Responsabilités

    • Follow up on all purchased parts (regardless of mode) to ensure shipment and on-time performance to support production requirements
    • Track critical (hot) parts from previous shift
    • Communicate next shift/day critical parts while monitoring dock minimums and maximums to avoid violations
    • Follow-up on critical parts with suppliers and/or carriers and arrange expedites when required
    • Ensure communication of critical part status to GM MFC, plant, LOC and 3rd parties. Request part counts from plant floor and LOC whenever any deviation from the normal material flow plan occurs and respond accordingly
    • Coordinate and/or arrange for alternative sources of material and request for spot buys if supplier is unable to provide a part when required
    • Other duties as assigned
